2-year EU contract awarded to PAI-GGNI-EPDG consortium
December 19, 2018 – EU awards contract to support Egyptian Energy Hub development to Belgian-Dutch-Egyptian consortium.
The Arab Republic of Egypt, represented by the European Commission, and consortium of expert companies Port of Antwerp International (PAI), Global Gas Networks Initiative (GGNI) and Egyptian Port Development Group (EPDG).
The project, at the request of the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resource, is to support the Ministry’s endeavours to become a regional Energy Hub.
The consortium is to support the Ministry’s Hub Team in developing the bunkering business in Egypt in line with the country’s oil and gas hub strategy, produce an action plan for the bunkering business that could be implemented by the Ministry, work on incorporating Egypt’s plans to establish a low Sulphur fuel hub and help building the capacities of Hub Team members and other stakeholders in the field of Gas Trading.
The consortium is to develop an action plan to develop the bunkering business in Egypt, to produce a feasibility study in an LNG bunkering business, to carry out training programs on gas trading and to develop a roadmap with clear benchmarks on how to implement recommendations.
